Psalm 23
He is leading me beside still waters and he is restoring my soul. Last year I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, but he was with me. He is preparing the table for me. My cup overflows. I’m at home in God’s house.

wrong person to ask
this morning at the bakery a lady gets out of her bright yellow hummer wearing her army fatigues. first of all, stereotype much?  right off, she asked me for a military discount. i’m sorry, but these bags of cookies are so flippin’ cheap that a military discount would be equivalent to me just giving them to her. yeah. no. sorry. i am probably the last person that you should ask for a...

orchestration: a case in point
so about a week and a half ago, i was at work, and mentioned how it was convenient that i live across the street from my church. my co-worker looked at me, and said she didn’t realized that i went to church. i went through a quick spurt of emotions/thoughts — shock, embarrassment and disappointment (in myself) were a couple of them.  the shelter is a funny environment, it’s one...

stats
ok, so here at shelter we have to log EVERY interaction with every resident and every resident’s child. we are partially government-funded and in order to receive money from the man, we have to account for every cent and prove that we need it. we do that by recording what we do with our time…  enter stats. they are only due once a month. they are an entire record of all our time...
