Wedding #2

A girl just told me to keep talking cause she especially likes my voice. She wasn’t lying.

This has never happened before.

We will be FBFs (forever beat friends of FBF [Fairlight Belinda Fitzgerald])

VACA entry #1

in the english language, “vaca” is a lame term for vacation. in spanish, “vaca” means “cow.” spanish wins in this fight.

so on my first cow day, i was super out of sorts. i made a sad effort at a list of “to-do’s” and then moped around for the first half of the day. it is bizarre for me to have so much time on my hands. i don’t think i am ever going to be able to retire. it freaks me out.

  • i painted my toes
  • sorted my necklaces
  • watched one of my favorite movies called “brick”
  • made a bomb penne & cheese with butternut squash mixed in. i didn’t have a casserole dish, so i put it in a vintage jello mold thing of mine. it was stellar.
  • made yellow curry with a shopping cart’s worth of veggies thrown in
  • watched “adjustment bureau” (which was pretty great)
  • froze my harvested berries
  • had dinner with mary
  • went to work!

it was nice to actually have energy at the shelter. i am always so tired by the time i get there. last night, i was really into it and felt refreshed… and then i got a full night sleep which was fantastic.

then this morning, i made my daily steel cut oats with PB + honey + cinnamon, and then i added in the yummy raspberries. then sun is shining, and so i made my way to the porch and greeted the morning walkers while i ate breakfast.

in an hour i’ll be hiking.

maybe retirement isn’t so bad.

this week

so i’m essentially on vacation this week. it’s weird how i can work 40 hours and feel like that’s nothing. i don’t know what to do with myself. i am making a list of things that i will absolutely never do if i have anything else to do. some of these things include, but are not limited to:

  • putting my photos in photo albums.
  • prepping a quilt
  • get my multnomah co. library card.
  • get my cowboy boots and loafers re-soled.
  • fix my necklaces (or find someone to fix them)
  • make a mix cd
  • fix the stain on my perfect white T shirt
  • stain my ruined pile of clothes black in order to make them perfect
  • not spend money
  • freezing the raspberries on the freezer

i also plan on hiking table rock (my favorite hike outside of mollala, or), planning a picnic, getting a root canal, going on some solid bike rides, and being an extra on portlandia.

should be a good week.

i love trying new things. i’ll do (most) anything at least once.
but i exceptionally hate being a beginner at things.

when i was little, my mom always told me i couldn’t start talking about my birthday until july 5th. as an adult, i have pretended to not care about my birthday, so i stopped talking about it.

but there’s no denying it—i love birthdays.

and this year i’m making a (wish)list.
